Recent study has revealed that even if your cholesterol and blood pressure levels are normal but poor and stressful psychological environmental factors at work tend to increase the heart problems. This study was done at University of Gothenburg that also focused on that employees at work are not motivated and appreciated for their valuable contributions.

The study disclosed that employees who do not suffer from any heart disease but due to stressful conditions at work leads to threat signs of heart problems such as coronary heart disease which shows symptoms such as high blood pressure and cholesterol levels. The lead researcher, Mia Soderberg also came to a conclusion that the men who suffer from the same, often change and quit there jobs and point out the difference between men and women.1 Other added factors also tend to increase problems that I will be discussing next.

So do you have long working hours, sedentary lifestyles and this is leading to health problems, kindly keep appropriate check on your health.
So let me introduce the concept of ergonomics. How many of us know what is ergonomics and how we should follow proper ergonomics in our daily routine?

Ergonomics is creating a healthy balance between environment at work along with various elements like safety, design, function etc and matching the above mentioned with the physical health of the employees at workplace. One of the examples of improper ergonomics is as follows.

Musculo-Skeletal Disorders

How many of us have seriously thought about this until we have suffered with the pain due to the same. This is one of the most common disorder affecting our nerves, tendon, muscles, joints and ligaments. Young employees suffer the most due to the same. This is because of long working hours that is working at a stretch for up to 4-5 hours. This is one problem all of us are aware of, but how many of us take this seriously is a bigger question. It starts from mild discomfort and pain to more serious complications namely cervical spondylitis.

Hence, all factors such as sedentary and unhealthy lifestyles along with choice of bad infrastructure such as chairs have lead to problems for professionals such as in MNC’s and other sectors. My next article will focus on how to prevent us from the same and what should employers do for their employees to protect them.

Kindly share your experiences if you have suffered with the same
